I drew up the outlines for this piece a couple of months ago and released them for sale in my etsy store, since then it's been calling out to me for some colour. So that's just what I did - I added lots of colour!
But of course I never stop with just colour!
No way jose, I then added all the tiny details that make a piece like this distinctly Hello Angel - I've even made a little time-lapse for you so you can check out how I go about it and maybe give it a try yourself.
I hope to figure out a way to make the quality of my videos better, it'll probably involve me having to dive deep into my pockets and they aren't that long these days so there may be a tiny delay in them being enhanced, I hope you can handle them for now ;)
If you would like to give this a whirl at colouring you can purchase it here!
If you're wondering about what I've named this piece 'Oaxaca Mat' it's after Mexican Folk Art/Oaxacan Art, it reminded me of those brightly coloured, crazily detailed fantastical animals called Alebrijes that originated with Pedro Linares and his crazy dream. He was from Mexico City but it seems these days that Oaxaca is known for them after a craft workshop in the 1980s.
