So I’ve made a list of wild animals I’d like tackle (The ‘Not Very Wild’ series), #1 in the series is the lion. I thought it fitting seeing as I’m a super fantabulous Leo myself!
First I sketched out his lion features - eyes, nose, muzzle and where his mane would flow. Then I went at him with my trusty black pitt pen (F then S) filling in all the details in my flowery, abstract and busy style - of course he would never be the ‘King’ of the jungle with flowers in his hair, he’d be much more at home in San Francisco!
I’ve been a little stumped on as how to colourise him though. I’ve shown him here digitally coloured, I really want to colour him using my copics & acrylic inks BUT... I need some new supplies before I start. Hopefully doing it both ways, I’ll be able to narrow down my favourite way of finishing my drawings... but probably not, I’m not good at locking myself into anything firm.
I’d like to know what you think...
Oh, and the list... I’ll share that with you next time!
